About The RoleAs the Manager Global Social Media, you are responsible for managing Qatar Airways’ Social Media presence and global influencer’s partnerships. You will ensure Qatar Airways’ positive reputation in the digital space by developing social media campaigns, activations, content which will drive a positive impact globally on social media. The role is also the key liaison between the corporate communications & marketing functions and regional communications teams. You will ensure alignment of corporate communications and marketing strategy through setting strategy for QR social media platforms. StrategicYour key accountabilities include:

Develop the airline’s global social media communication strategy, determining the level of investment and recommended choice of channels for each communication campaign. Develop strategic relationships with key global media partners, influencers & vloggers according to campaign objectives. Establish Qatar Airways as preferred airline for social media travel community and key brand ambassadors. Manage and execute the social media strategy to meet defined business goals for the airline and its subsidiaries. Build and grow social media following whilst driving higher engagement through strong content. OperationalEnsure campaign delivery, performance and identified goals are being fulfilled as scheduled.

Monitor campaign performance and pacing and conduct performance analyses on a regular basis, using a data driven approach to optimize campaigns. Deliver reporting and in-depth analysis to GCEO and clients to provide them with unique and actionable insights. Constantly look for enhancement and new technology to improve effectiveness and budget spend efficiency. Create and maintain good relationship with bloggers, social media influencers and online portals to cover our events when needed and generate an online buzz. Analyze campaigns and translate quantitative data into recommendations and plans for revising the Social Media campaigns.

Conduct a competitive analysis by studying competitors on social media networks to benchmark on content, reach and engagement rates. Provide real-time updates on breaking news and issues to Corporate Communications Management team for escalation as required. Oversee and monitor daily and annual plans as developed by Social Media team. Management & LeadershipEstablish the department or team’s objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives. 34 AMAbout YouThe successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills: Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with minimum 8 years of job-related experience. Social media management experience. Strong background of content creation, community engagement, influencer partnerships. In-depth knowledge of global social platforms. Proven track record of developing and executing high-impact social campaigns. Experience with social media analytics tools. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders. Strong command of English language – excellent communication skills. Strong leadership experience – able to manage diverse teams and cross-functional groups. Able to work in high-pressure and fast paced work environment.
