About The RoleQatar Airways are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our Crew Resources -System & Analysis team as a Quality Assurance Specialist to be based in Doha, Qatar. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and running a complete Quality Assurance program that not only safeguards product quality but also fosters a culture in which all employees are actively engaged in improving system quality.
Will be part of the system development team that is responsible for ensuring the quality of the release, for implementing changes to IT components of the existing Jeppesen Systems, as laid out by the Business needs. Specific Responsibilities For The Role IncludeDesign and oversee a comprehensive unit and regression testing framework and processes, involving relevant stakeholders for all items in the development pipeline, to ensure quality standards are met in production deliveries. Collaborate with stakeholders and business analysts to develop targeted test cases for each approved development item, building a scenario library for use during unit and regression testing.
Create effective test plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures in partnership with stakeholders, including customers, business analysts, developers, and management, to successfully complete user acceptance testing (UAT). Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks to enhance testing efficiency and coverage, ensuring regular system quality checks are conducted. Maintain and update a comprehensive library of test and functional cases, leveraging automated testing tools like Gherkin to ensure that quality checks are performed regularly with the latest changes.
Accurately document software defects in Jira or other tracking systems and promptly notify software developers to facilitate the resolution of issues found during internal testing and UAT. Develop and manage test schedules that align with project scope, delivery, and release deadlines, ensuring seamless UAT and production delivery. Review release notes and documentation for technical accuracy, compliance, completeness, and risk mitigation to ensure effective documentation and future reference. Provide actionable feedback and recommendations to developers regarding software usability and functionality enhancements to improve user experience.

Minimum of 5 years of job-related experience, 3 years working in a software quality analyst role. Experience of working in rostering with Jeppesen products preferred. Knowledge of automated testing tools such as Gherkin and Behave preferred. Deep knowledge of software quality assurance terminology, methods, and tools.
Strong understanding of regression and automated testing principles and tools. Proficiency in best practices for testing, version control, and defect management. Understanding of agile/scrum methodology and how quality assurance functions within it. Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders. Advanced level of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access) skills. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
