Job Description

To develop, implement, and maintain quality, health, safety, and environmental management systems to ensure mining and exploration operations comply with legal, regulatory, and company standards while promoting a safe and sustainable work culture across our joint ventures.Key Responsibilities1. Health & SafetyDevelop and enforce Ajlan & Bros Mining group-wide and site-specific HSE policies, procedures, and standards.Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and safety inspections across mining, exploration, and processing areas.Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans.Ensure consistent standards are applied across operations.Organize regular safety training and emergency drills for mine employees and contractors.2. EnvironmentMonitor and manage environmental impacts of mining and exploration operations (dust, noise, water, waste, emissions).Ensure compliance with environmental permits, local laws, and sustainability targets.Coordinate rehabilitation, waste management, and biodiversity protection programs.3. QualityImplement quality management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) in mining operations.Audit suppliers, contractors, and internal processes to ensure operational excellence.Develop KPIs and monitor performance against company standards.4. Compliance & ReportingMaintain up-to-date knowledge of mining safety, environmental, and quality legislation.Prepare and submit HSE performance reports to regulators and company leadership.Maintain incident logs, safety statistics, and environmental monitoring records.5. Leadership & CulturePromote a “Zero Harm” culture across all teams and departments.Provide coaching and mentoring to supervisors and employees on QHSE matters.Participate in toolbox talks, safety committees, and leadership safety walks.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO Lead Auditor, or equivalent HSE certification preferred.Minimum 5 years’ QHSE experience in the mining or heavy industrial sector.Knowledge of mining legislation, international standards, and best practices.Strong incident investigation and root cause analysis skills.Excellent communication, leadership, and training facilitation skills.Driving License.
