Job Description

OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor/Contracts Manager to lead all commercial and contractual activities on our pharmaceutical manufacturing facility construction project in Belgium. This role manages project costs, contracts administration, and commercial risk across multiple high value work packages.ResponsibilitiesManage commercial aspects of multiple construction contracts including EPCM, trade packages, and equipment procurementLead cost control, budgeting, and financial reporting for all project work packagesAdminister contract variations, change orders, and extension of time claimsCoordinate monthly payment applications, progress valuations, and final account settlementsManage procurement processes ensuring compliance with EU procurement regulationsLead commercial risk identification, mitigation, and claims resolutionInterface with client commercial teams, contractors, and supply chain partnersProvide commercial guidance to Construction Manager and Package OwnersPrepare and present commercial reports to Project DirectorQualificationsBachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related fieldChartered membership (RICS, CIOB) or equivalent European qualification preferred8-12 years commercial management experience on major construction projectsProven experience with pharmaceutical/industrial construction contractsExpertise in contract administration (FIDIC, NEC4, or similar standard forms)Strong cost control, budgeting, and financial forecasting capabilitiesExperience with EU procurement regulations and tender processesKnowledge of construction law, variations, and dispute resolution proceduresUnderstanding of pharmaceutical construction processes and GMP requirementsAbility to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work breakdown structuresExperience with project management software and cost control systemsStrong negotiation skills and commercial acumenExcellent analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesProven ability to manage commercial relationships with multiple stakeholdersFluency in Dutch advantageousD&IInclusion and Diversity are core to our culture and values.
