This role ensures that all compounded medications—sterile and non-sterile—are prepared safely, accurately, and in alignment with UAE Department of Health (DOH), USP /, and institutional standards.The pharmacist will also play a critical role in reviewing physicians prescriptions, dispensing medications, educating patients, and advising clinicians on drug therapy, ensuring optimal outcomes and continuity of care.Key Responsibilities Quality Assurance & Compliance OversightDevelop, implement, and maintain QA systems and SOPs for all compounding processes.Ensure adherence to USP // and DOH/MOHAP regulations.Conduct routine audits, deviation management, and CAPA implementation.Validate cleaning, calibration, and environmental monitoring records.Maintain audit-ready documentation for inspections and accreditations. Prescription Review & Clinical VerificationReview and verify all physicians prescriptions for accuracy, completeness, dosage, and potential interactions.Ensure appropriateness of compounded preparations for the patients condition and clinical context.Coordinate with physicians to clarify, modify, or optimize prescriptions as needed. Compounding & Dispensing SupervisionOversee non-sterile compounding activities (creams, gels, capsules, suspensions, etc.) performed by technicians.Approve master formulation records, batch logs, and labeling before product release.Dispense medications in compliance with regulatory and institutional standards.Ensure proper beyond-use dating (BUD), storage, and traceability of compounded medications. Patient Education & CounselingProvide patient-centered medication counseling on usage, storage, side effects, and expected outcomes.Support adherence by simplifying dosing regimens and offering educational materials.Collaborate with clinicians and nurses to ensure continuity of care and correct administration. Clinical & Physician SupportAct as a clinical resource for physicians and healthcare teams regarding compounding feasibility, formulation stability, and drug interactions.Respond promptly to inquiries about compounded preparations, dosing alternatives, and therapeutic substitutions.Support clinical decision-making through evidence-based recommendations. Inventory & Documentation ControlOversee quality-related aspects of API and excipient inventory (expiry, traceability, vendor qualifications).Ensure batch record documentation, reconciliation, and proper disposal of expired or recalled materials.Support procurement and vendor audits to maintain GMP-quality raw materials.
