Job Description
Key Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesThe Quality Control Inspector is responsible for the performance of all quality functions, duties and documentation as related to the fabrication, welding and coating of all structural items occurring in the welding shop and coating facility. This position reports directly to the QA/QC Manager.Specific Duties:· Perform inspection on structural components, assemblies and fabrications in accordance with the applicable standard of construction and/or customer specifications. Such inspections shall include but not be limited to:· Dimensional inspections· Review of Material Test Reports· Receiving inspection· Monitor and record parts and heat numbers throughout fabrication· Weld visual inspection· Blast inspection· Coating inspection· In process steel building erection inspection· Complete all associated documentation; quality control reports, weld mapping, coating reports and turnover documents· Abide by all Health & Safety Regulations, and Company Health & Safety Policies and Procedures· Control and achieve documentation upon completion of the project· Liaise with client and third party inspectors as needed· Collaborate with production on continuous improvement initiatives· Other duties as assigned by the QA/QC ManagerJob Requirements:· Journeyperson Welder or Fitter an asset· Coating application experience an asset· Preference given to those who have CWB Supervisor, CSA W178.2 level 1 or 2 certification and experience with structural steel· Preference given to those who have NACE CIP level 1 or 2 certification and experience with structural steel· Proficient with computer software programs such as Word, Excel, Strumis and others· Ability to read and interpret drawings and prints· Ability to read and interpret client, industry, CSA standards and specifications· Willing to travel when required· Ability to work within strict deadlines and under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor· Excellent communicator: excellent written and oral communications skills· Must be able to pass Pre-Employment Drug and Alcohol testJob Types: Full-time, PermanentBenefits:Dental careEmployee assistance programExtended health careOn-site parkingRRSP matchWork Location: In person
