About us:The Barrick Group is a diverse conglomerate with operations spanning F&B, retail, HORECA brand management and distribution, food commodities trading, ecommerce and manufacturing. While the GCC remains our primary market, we have also expanded our operations to our home base in Canada.Experience and Skills: 3-5 years’ experience in food production QA/QC, ideally in dairy or beverage manufacturing. Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety standards.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office and QA-related software is a plus.Job Responsibilities:The QA/QC Officer is responsible for ensuring the consistent quality and safety of ice cream, smoothies, and juice production by implementing, monitoring, and improving quality control systems and processes. This role involves hands-on supervision of the production line, regular product testing, hygiene control, and compliance with food safety standards such as HACCP, GMP, and ISO.Quality Control (QC):Inspect raw materials (fruits, dairy, flavors, etc.) upon arrival for quality and compliance with specifications.Monitor production processes to ensure products meet predefined quality standards (taste, texture, temperature, weight, appearance).Conduct in-process checks at critical control points– e.g., pasteurization temperature, mixing ratios, packaging integrity.Perform lab tests for microbial load, pH levels, Brix (sugar content), viscosity, etc.Ensure proper calibration of lab and production equipment.Conduct testing of packaging materials and verify artwork designs prior to final printing.Coordinate with suppliers to manage documentation, including vendor registration, product MSDS, trade licenses, and QA-related support documents.Quality Assurance (QA):Develop and maintain QA documentation including SOPs, checklists, and logs.Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and hygiene standards throughout the facility.Participate in the implementation and maintenance of food safety systems (HACCP, ISO 22000, etc.).Train production staff on QA/QC procedures, hygiene, and safety protocols.Investigate and document customer complaints and non-conformities; recommend corrective/preventive actions.Assist in internal and external audits (regulatory and certification bodies).Qualification:Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).Please apply only if you meet the following criteria..
