Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Quality Supervisor – Welding / NDE (with Coating) to support quality management activities across pipeline and above-ground construction works on a major infrastructure project in Uganda.This position plays a key role in overseeing and coordinating welding, non-destructive examination (NDE), and coating inspection activities performed by contractors, ensuring compliance with project specifications, international standards, and HSE requirements.What’s On Offer12-month renewable contract with potential for extension.Site-based role in Uganda, rotating 8 weeks on / 2 weeks off.USD day rate, paid per day workedKey ResponsibilitiesSupervise and coordinate welding, NDE, and coating activities across multiple construction sites.Review and validate contractors’ method statements, work procedures, and inspection documentation.Ensure compliance with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), hold points, and acceptance criteria.Verify qualifications of welding, NDE, and coating personnel and oversee competency assessments.Monitor and report on the quality of welding, coating, and NDE activities in accordance with standards.Support the implementation of Welding and NDT Qualification Management Systems (WQMS).Conduct site inspections, technical audits, and witness tests to ensure quality compliance.Oversee coating processes and ensure alignment with approved procedures and manufacturer recommendations.Coordinate failure analysis, repair verification, and root cause assessments.Manage inspection documentation, non-conformance reports, and completion dossiers.Promote HSE awareness and safe working practices throughout all activities.Candidate ProfileDegree or diploma in Mechanical, Welding, or Materials Engineering (or equivalent technical qualification).Minimum 5–10 years of experience in pipeline or industrial construction quality supervision.Certified in CSWIP 3.1 (or equivalent) with valid NDT certifications per ISO 9712 or ASNT CP-189 (UT, RT, MT, PT, PAUT, TOFD).Coating qualification such as BGAS CSWIP Grade II, NACE CIP Level II, SSPC, or ICorr Level II.Proven background in welding, coating, and NDE quality control on large oil & gas or energy projects.Strong understanding of international codes and standards (ASME, API, AWS).Skilled in quality reporting, documentation, and use of MS Office tools.Excellent communication and leadership abilities, capable of working in a multicultural project environment.Proactive and hands-on approach with strong attention to detail and safety culture.If you are interested, please apply
