Quantitative Trader Intern (2026)

Job Description

Our 10-week internship programme in Amsterdam is your chance to experience life as a trader at IMC. As a Trader Intern, you will delve into the proprietary trading landscape during the first week of engaging and challenging classroom-based learning. You will have the opportunity hone your skills and apply what you’ve learned with a meaningful project and weekly trading challenges. Throughout the summer, you will receive comprehensive support from dedicated internship trainers, and a one-on-one mentor to guide you in your work and professional development. In our collaborative office environment, you will build a valuable network of IMC traders and engineers. Where you go from here is up to you!YOUR CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Generate new trading strategiesIterate current trading strategiesWork on tooling, functionality, and/or visibility for specific use casesHone your trading skills by working on a relevant project, shadowing different trading desks, and participating in competitive simulated trading sessionsAttend workshops, presentations, trainings, and social activities alongside the full internship cohortYOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES In your penultimate year of study in mathematics, physics, econometrics, or a related quantitative field graduating in 2027Experience in a programming language is a plus (e.g. Python, Matlab, or R)You thrive working in an environment where creativity, teamwork, and innovation are recognised and rewardedYou want to make an impact on meaningful and challenging projectsOutstanding analytical skillsGenuine interest in financial markets (no prior knowledge or experience is required)Must be able to start the internship on June 22, 2026Please note: If you have already applied for this position during the current recruitment season and were not selected, you may reapply when the next recruitment season begins in September 2026.
