The Opportunity: We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Electrical Project Director to lead and deliver a major government-funded social infrastructure project in Queensland.
This is a critical leadership role responsible for the overall successful execution of all electrical aspects of this high-profile project, from inception to completion. Key Responsibilities: Provide strategic leadership and direction for all electrical engineering, procurement, and construction activities throughout the project lifecycle. Manage and mentor a multi-disciplinary team of electrical engineers, project managers, and technical staff. Develop, implement, and monitor project plans, budgets, schedules, and resource allocation to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery. Oversee all electrical design, ensuring compliance with relevant Australian standards, regulations, and project specifications. Manage stakeholder relationships, including government agencies, clients, contractors, and suppliers.
Identify and mitigate project risks, implementing robust risk management strategies. Ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental compliance are maintained across all electrical works. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of innovation within the electrical project team. Prepare and present regular project reports to senior management and key stakeholders. About You: Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. A master’s degree or relevant project management certification (e. g. , PMP) is desirable.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in electrical project management, with a significant portion spent on large-scale infrastructure projects with experience in the health sector highly regarded. Demonstrated experience in successfully leading and delivering major government-funded projects in Australia, particularly in Queensland, is highly desirable. Strong understanding of Australian electrical standards, codes, and regulations. Proven ability to manage complex budgets, schedules, and resources. Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders. A strategic thinker with a strong problem-solving aptitude and a proactive approach to challenges.
