The Executive Director, Policy and Operations, Olympic and Paralympic Games Office, is a pivotal leadership role, requiring a strategic, results-driven individual with a strong background in policy, risk, and corporate operations. The position is responsible for tracking the Queensland Government’s investment and expenditure in the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games (Brisbane 2032). Reporting directly to the Deputy Director-General, the role leads a systems-wide approach to policy and risk and oversees the day-to-day management and operations of the OPGO, ensuring alignment with the government’s objectives for Brisbane 2032.
In This Role You WillLead and provide executive oversight of system-wide policy and legislation, providing high-end policy input and influence spanning First Nations, Accessibility and Inclusion, Sustainability, Procurement and Supply Chain, and Economic Development; ensuring the government's commitments are delivered. Be secretariatfor the highest decision-making bodies for Brisbane 2032. This includes Ministerial level Games Leadership Group, Director-General level Games Executive Group, Queensland Government Games Steering Group. Lead the tracking and reportingof Queensland Government's whole-of-Games budget and agreed Games Cost definition, exerting sophisticated influence in any absence of control.
Coordinate and be the authority on all matters relating to policy and legislation for Brisbane 2032. Provide expert advice and direction on sport, venues and training venues as they relate to, or are impacted by, Brisbane 2032. Lead and provide executive oversightof OPGO's operational functions across risk management, governance, human resources, finance and procurement, legal and information technology; ensuring appropriately skilled representation at stakeholder engagement. Deliver expert strategic adviceand support to the Director-General and Deputy Director-General on matters relating to Brisbane 2032 governance and risk management.
