Come and join the Community and Personal Histories Unit at the Department. We are looking for a leader who can manage a team dedicated to assisting Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islander people to access historical archival records. In this role you will maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism surrounding sensitive issues and provide direct support to the strategic operations of the Community and Personal Histories Unit and the Department. It is important to note that in this role you will regularly come across historical records that often contain personal and culturally sensitive information. Given this, the Department prioritises a trauma informed environment that promotes physical, emotional and cultural safety. Your Contribution And Key ResponsibilitiesProvide high level strategic advice to senior management on a broad range of issues, projects and initiatives relating to facilitating access to records for Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islander people.
Provide leadership to the work unit, including the management of client request triage, client contact, training of staff; and resource allocations to achieve strategic and project outcomes. Foster stakeholder partnerships, and a professional and learning environment in accordance with agency governance arrangements, legislation, internal policies and procedures, ensuring outcomes are delivered within specified times, cost, risk, scope and quality. Manage, produce and quality assure briefs, reports, project plans, briefing notes, stakeholder and executive correspondence, submissions, strategies. Ensure staff wellbeing and professional development strategies consider, build on and are integrated within planning processes. What We Are Looking For. . . . . .
