Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to how First Nations and Native Title matters are considered in protected area and wildlife authorities. This is a new position within the Permissions Management & Ecotourism team assessing Native Title matters and forms part of departmental initiatives in better recognising, and respecting, the aspirations, and interests of First Nations people in decision making.

The Project Officer sits within the Native Title Permits team and performs a statewide role validating and assessing Native Title matters on applications for protected area and wildlife authorities and providing customer support for authorities issued by the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service & Partnerships (QPWS&P). For This Role, You'll Need To Builds and sustains positive relationships with team members, stakeholders and clients; shares information and ensures others are kept informed of issues. Understands and supports the organisation's vision, mission and business objectives; recognises how own work contributes to the achievement of organisational goals.

Contributes own expertise to achieve outcomes for the business unit. Confidently presents messages in a clear, concise manner; focuses on key points and uses appropriate language; structures written and oral communication to ensure clarity. Demonstrates public service professionalism and probity. Role model Individual Contributor leadership behaviours as outlined in the Leadership competencies for Queensland.
