The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join the Performance Analytics Unit. The Performance Analytics Unit is responsible for assisting the QCAA, our partners and stakeholders to maintain and improve the accuracy, consistency, quality and reliability of information received and reported by the QCAA. The unit collects, analyses and disseminates data to a range of organisations and the public. What You Will DoIn the Senior Data Analyst role, you will:
undertake data analysis projects as part of a team to ensure the integrity, accuracy and timely provision of data to support quality assurance and senior student assessment programsanalyse data to support the issue of senior education profiles (SEP) and national assessment program literacy and numeracy (NAPLAN) test reports, using programs/languages such as R, SQL, Ruby on Rails, R Markdown, Microsoft Power BI, LaTeX and code version control softwareparticipate in all aspects of the assessment and reporting program from design and development of data projects across a range of methods, through to implementation of analyses which includes analysing and extracting data, compiling and distributing complex and customised reports, findings and recommendationsprovide advice to internal managers and staff on data analysis and extraction and the production of reportsuse knowledge of database design and querying to maintain QCAA databases to ensure they can be used to inform sound policy advice at any timeassist in performing quality control over the large-scale datasets required for the preparation of school and student data for NAPLAN, generation of the SEP and marking of senior external assessment.
Reporting relationshipsThis role reports to the Manager, Performance Analytics Unit. No roles report directly to this role.
