Job Description

Join us in delivering meaningful projects that support Queensland's parliamentary operations across the Parliamentary Precinct in Brisbane and 97 Members' Electorate Offices statewide. We are seeking two project professionals to lead maintenance and fit-out initiatives across Queensland. Parliamentary Services currently have two 3-year temporary appointments available for enthusiastic professionals ready to make an impact. About Your New TeamProperty Services ensures Queensland's parliamentary spaces meet the highest standards of functionality, presentation, and safety. Our responsibilities span: Construction - building upgrades, refurbishments, and electorate office fit-outs. Maintenance - housekeeping, cleaning, gardens, precinct and office upkeep. Sustainability - energy and water efficiency programs.

Risk & WHS mitigation. Contractor safety management. Catering services within the Brisbane precinct. Coordination of electorate office relocations. About Your New RoleAs a Senior Project Officer, you'll manage projects from planning to delivery across Queensland. You'll support capital works, maintenance, and provide contract administration while maintaining compliance with QPS systems. This position carries delegated authority to incur expenditure up to $10,000.

Key Responsibilities IncludeDeveloping scoping documents, project plans, briefings, and reporting on finances, risks, contractors, and suppliers;Ensuring contractual compliance and alignment with business systems;Preparing and monitoring budgets with necessary approvals;Liaising with clients, contractors, and suppliers to coordinate project delivery;Managing timelines to ensure successful outcomes; andProviding contract administration support and performing other duties as required. About YouWe're looking for professionals with experience managing fit-outs and maintenance in commercial and residential settings. While formal qualifications in Project Management Construction, Facilities, Architecture or Engineering are desirable, practical experience and the right mindset count.

Skills That Will Set You ApartDemonstrated success in managing building fit outs and maintenance;Solid knowledge of current building codes and technology, including historical building preservation;Strong WH&S awareness and procurement best practices;Proven project management skills to meet project deliverables;High-level written and verbal communication for clear stakeholder engagement; andAn ability to quickly grasp departmental operations, policies, and contract arrangements.
