We are looking for a Regional Director to lead the coordination of service delivery, engagement and planning to a team working collaboratively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities within the Far North Queensland region to deliver a broad range of programs and initiatives and contribute to the delivery of Closing the Gap reforms.
Your contribution and key responsibilitiesEnsure the appropriate systems, processes, networks, and relationships are implemented to enable the department to lead, influence and obtain collaboration between local, state and commonwealth government agencies, private sector organisations and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities within the region to improve service delivery outcomes, consistent with Closing the Gap. Actively monitor and interpret Queensland Government priorities, policies, and strategic objectives, ensuring that all work activities, projects, and initiatives are aligned with these priorities.
Provide advice to senior management, including the Executive Leadership Team on regional issues, particularly relating to whole of government Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander service delivery, engagement and partnerships. Facilitate, monitor and report on the implementation of partnership agreements between government and the community as well as the effectiveness and delivery of government services to nominated communities. Represent the department at significant forums ensuring effective negotiation on regional issues, particularly service delivery improvements.
Collaborate with the other government agencies in the sharing of information and the development and implementation of service delivery responses to improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Actively identify and promote the use of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses in the region. Support, promote and facilitate reconciliation and reconnection activities and strategies in the region that affirm Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage and cultures. Provide high level leadership and direction to staff to build individuals and teams committed to the achievement of organisational goals and outcomes.
Effectively lead the implementation of programs and projects at the regional level to ensure outcomes are achieved in a timely, appropriate and cost-effective manner within allocated resource and budget constraints. Ensure effective management of human, financial and physical resources, ensuring a culture of client service, continuous improvement and innovation and ensuring performance outcomes are achieved to a high standard.
