Job Description

Ipswich West State School is seeking a committed Head of Department (Curriculum) for a six month opportunity to lead Prep to Year 6 curriculum delivery and drive our whole school approach to the Department’s Reading Position Statement. You will lead academic tiered supports, build teaching capability through coaching and feedback, and use student data to strengthen learning outcomes. This is a temporary full-time position for 6 months, until 12 December 2025, unless otherwise determined.

About The RoleAs a key member of the Ipswich West State School leadership team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Leading curriculum initiatives aligned with school and departmental priorities. Driving the implementation of the Australian Curriculum across all classrooms through consistent three-level planning. Enhancing teaching and learning quality through evidence-based pedagogical practices that support all learners.

Facilitating planning days, professional learning communities (PLCs), professional development, communities of practice, mentoring, coaching, and curriculum-related processes. Fostering positive, collaborative relationships with students, staff, and stakeholders. Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position. Interested?
