5 FTE position dedicated to supporting primary and secondary students with mild to moderate mental health concerns. This role strengthens existing student support services and plays a key part within the school's wellbeing team. Your ResponsibilitiesAs the Guidance Officer, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Develop and implement counselling and support programs for students focusing on preventative and early intervention strategies; responsive to personal, social, emotional, and educational needs; aiming to foster resilience and personal skills development.

Provide professional expertise, leadership, and support to school communities and networks in developing and implementing plans, programs, and adjustments to assist students with mild to moderate mental health and wellbeing concerns to achieve positive educational, developmental, and lifelong learning outcomes. Participate in regular clinical and technical supervision to ensure ongoing professional support and development. Identify needs and refer children, parents, and families to community agencies, especially in cases of severe or critical mental health concerns. Conduct student observation and psychoeducational assessment to determine the nature of wellbeing concerns and make recommendations for educational adjustments and interventions.

Balance ethical issues of privacy and confidentiality for each student with the appropriateness of sharing information; maintain a comprehensive and professional record-keeping system that complies with policy and legal requirements regarding parental and legal access to records. Participate in relevant professional development; prepare and implement professional and personal skill development programs and in-service activities for administrators, teachers, and parentsPlease refer to the attached role description for the full list of responsibilities and mandatory requirements for this position.
