The division focuses on developing advanced drive systems and high-efficiency motors and generators, which are critical in various industrial applications.We are seeking an R&D Team Leader to join ABB Oy, Motion High Power, Machines Division in Helsinki. You will lead a team of R&D Engineers specializing in the electrical and thermal dimensioning of a wide range of electric motors and generators. Leveraging your leadership and management skills, you will inspire, guide and drive your team to achieve high levels of performance. Additionally, you will be accountable for monitoring the electrical and thermal performance of dedicated products and creating related development road maps.We offer a hybrid working modea, and the role requires approximately 50 % work time presence in our offices in Pitäjänmäki.You Will Be Mainly Accountable ForLeading a team of R&D Engineers specializing in electrical and thermal dimensioning of a wide range of electric motors and generatorsLeading and coaching your team members to achieve high levels of performanceDeveloping the competences of your team to effectively support execution of product strategiesTeam resource allocation and work-queue planning and follow-upOwnership of dedicated products’ electrical and thermal performanceQualifications For The RoleWorking experience as an expert in electric motors and generators, or experience leading a team of product expertsGood leadership skills and the ability to drive change in the team’s ways of workingGood planning and organization skillsProactive and systematic way of workingValid working permit in FinlandStrong written and verbal communication skills in English, and conversational proficiency in FinnishM.Sc. or higher in field of rotating electrical machinesAdvantagesWork experience in hardware product developmentEducation and work experience in electrical or thermal dimensioning of electrical motors and generatorsExperience in Lean and Agile methodologyKnow-how of Lean Six SigmaMore About UsThe High Power Division offers a comprehensive product portfolio of large AC motors and generators and drives.
