Our Mount Magnet Mining (MMG) operations include multiple open pit, underground, and satellite sites with a projected 17-year mine life. Active areas include Galaxy underground, Cue open pit, and Penny underground, with further expansion and exploration underway. THE ROLE AboutThe Cue Gold Project is a high-grade gold mine located in the Murchison region, about 40 km north of the Mount Magnet Operations (MMO). Providing substantial mill feed as a hub mine to MMG, Cue is currently an open pit operation with strong underground potential. Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, you will:
Support Geologists in marking out ore and waste zones and visually identifying ore during pit excavationManage sample collection and logistics associated with RC Grade Control drilling activitiesMonitor and sample stockpiles to verify correct material classification and blendingMaintain and calibrate field tools and ensure sampling equipment is clean and operationalInput geological data accurately and promptly into databases or software systemsProcess drill core samples including orientation, cutting, photographing, and portable X-ray (pXRF) devices. Collaborate with Geologists, Engineers, and Production teams to ensure efficient and effective open-pit operations. Physically fit with good lifting techniqueSome previous experience in a similar role across an open pit mining environmentCore processing experience beneficialWork as part of a team, participate in safety meetings and have strong communication skillsExcellent attention to detail, ensure daily tasks met and good computer skillsAdaptable with the ability to pick up new tasks quicklyHigh Risk Forklift licence is preferred but not essentialPrevious night shift experience or a willingness to undertake a continuous shift work rosterFirst aid certificateA current West Australian C Class (manual) driver’s licence and the ability to obtain a National Police Clearance for site access clearance.
