Data Scientist | Auckland Curious by nature? Ready to solve real-world problems with data?We’re working with a growing team looking to bring on a commercially-minded Data Scientist who thrives on discovery and impact. This is a hands-on role where you’ll apply statistical modelling and machine learning to build smart, scalable data solutions across multiple projects. You’ll get to design, test, and deploy models in a collaborative team that values data storytelling as much as technical excellence.
The ideal candidate is not only technically sharp, but also confident presenting insights and engaging with both internal and external stakeholders. You WillWork closely with stakeholders to translate business needs into data science problems. Build and deploy models and algorithms to solve complex challenges. Present clear, concise insights to technical and non-technical audiences. Contribute to the development of scalable analytics tools and products. Help assess data quality, integrity, and source viability. Collaborate with a cross-functional team to embed data science into business solutions. Work across a variety of sectors and datasets, never stuck in one domain. Flexible, outcome-focused work culture with room to grow and experiment. Opportunities to contribute to commercial products as well as bespoke projects. You’ll BringExperience with Python (or R), SQL, and statistical modelling techniques. Practical knowledge of machine learning (e. g. , clustering, decision trees, neural networks). Solid foundation in statistics (regression, distributions, tests). Ability to communicate findings clearly to stakeholders. Comfort working with large, messy datasets and building solutions from scratch. Bonus if you’ve worked with GIS, cloud platforms (BigQuery, Snowflake), or PostGIS/Postgres.
