Job Description

Jot Title: Business Analyst - Digital & Information ServicesLocation: Wellington, New ZealandRole Type: ContractDuration: 6 -12 monthsExperience: 5 - 10 YearsRole Overview: The Business Analyst (BA) plays a key role in leading the facilitation and definition of high-quality information services to meet business needs. This role involves integrating systems, conducting business process mapping, performing gap analysis, defining future-state requirements, and designing new systems and processes. Key Responsibilities: Act as a trusted advisor, adapting to changes in priorities and recommending solutions. Identify and escalate issues to stakeholders at all levels.

Collaborate with Digital & Information Services Managers and Project Managers to address issues and improve processes. Build and maintain strong relationships to stay informed about organizational changes. Develop and implement Business Analysis (BA) approaches for various workstreams. Contribute to the improvement of BA practices, frameworks, and methodologies. Work with the BA team to enhance the BA function and operationalize best practices. Focus on continuous professional development in BA skills and knowledge. Lead business analysis efforts, including:

Facilitating findings presentations and business process mappingConducting gap analysis, defining use cases, and developing test plansSupporting QA and end-user testing, and conducting training sessionsAnalyze information to identify patterns and recommend improvements. Manage requirements, ensuring accurate sign-off and alignment with project plans. Report on BA progress and maintain clear communication across teams. Ensure stakeholders are kept informed and aligned through effective information sharing. Required Experience: Minimum of 5 years in Business Analysis with a strong track record of successfully delivering ICT systems, digital products, or business process improvements.

Proven experience in supporting the design and delivery of ICT systems, digital solutions, and business process analysis. Strong understanding of both waterfall and agile project methodologies. Experience working with Product Owners and Managers to prioritize work and using techniques like MoSCoW for scope discussions. Advanced skills in business analysis, including requirement gathering, process mapping, and data analysis. Proficiency in systems development life cycle (SDLC). Expertise in using business analysis tools, including creating Traceability Matrices to demonstrate requirement and solution alignment. Experience with visual modeling (e. g. , UML diagrams, data models) to communicate system concepts.

Strong presentation and facilitation skills tailored to diverse audiences. Ability to prioritize work effectively and adapt to changing circumstances and priorities. Certifications: Industry-recognized certification (e. g. , CBAP, CCAP) highly desirable. Agile Certifications: Desirable (e. g. , SAFe, PMI, ScrumMaster, Agile Analysis Certification, IIBA-AAC).
