Role: Recruitment ManagerStart Date: ImmediateEmployment Type: Full time, 1-Year Contract (Renewable)Location: Kuala Lumpur, MalaysiaReporting Line: Head of Talent AcquisitionRole PurposeDriving the identification, recruitment, and selection of Malaysia's most promising future leaders across diverse academic and professional backgrounds to join the Teach For Malaysia Fellowship and other leadership development programmes, ensuring progress towards the goal of 2,200 Fellows by 2030.Principal AccountabilitiesLead the execution of campus and off-campus recruitment strategies to meet annual Fellowship intake goals.Manage and coach a team of recruiters, ensuring strong performance, alignment to goals, and a collaborative team culture.Cultivate and maintain partnerships with universities, student organisations, and external stakeholders to strengthen recruitment pipelines.Ensure smooth candidate experiences across recruitment, selection, and matriculation, including oversight of interviews, assessment centres, and onboarding.Use data and candidate feedback to optimise recruitment campaigns, selection tools, and team processes.Oversee implementation of early engagement strategies, managing university volunteers and Campus Leaders.Support the Head of Talent Acquisition in reporting, team planning, and engagement with key partners such as MOE and senior leadership.Role RequirementsCompetencies required for the roleAs people join TFM, we expect individuals to be aligned with our core values, have passion and drive to the TFM mission.Technical/ Functional competencies:Strong experience in full-cycle recruitment, including sourcing, outreach, screening, interviewing, selection, and candidate onboarding.Ability to design and execute targeted recruitment campaigns, both in-person and online, tailored to diverse candidate pools.Proficient in managing and optimising Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms such as Salesforce.Skilled in selection methodology, including behavioural interviews, assessment centres, and competency-based evaluations.Strong data analysis skills - able to track, analyse, and report recruitment performance metrics to inform team decisions and campaign strategies.Experience in stakeholder and relationship management, especially with universities, student organisations, corporate partners, and government bodies.Proficient in using digital marketing and social media for employer branding, awareness-building, and lead generation.Familiar with early talent engagement strategies, including volunteer mobilisation, referral campaigns, and student ambassador programmes.Knowledge of or willingness to learn knowledge management systems and analytics dashboards (e.g. Power BI, Google Data Studio, Confluence).Strong project management skills - able to plan, coordinate, and execute multiple recruitment cycles, events, and deadlines simultaneously.Able to support matriculation and placement coordination, working with other teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth onboarding of Fellows.Skilled in creating and delivering presentations, workshops, and info sessions to inspire and convert high-potential candidates.Leadership competencies:Able to manage, motivate, and develop a team towards achieving recruitment targets while upholding quality and mission alignment.Communicates clearly and persuasively in pitches, interviews, and partner engagements, adapting to different audiences.Demonstrates resourcefulness and creativity in problem-solving, particularly in navigating fast-paced or uncertain contexts.Builds strong relationships with internal colleagues and external partners, including student bodies and education stakeholders.Shows a high level of accountability and ownership, proactively identifying gaps and driving solutions.Embodies TFM’s Core Values and role-models a positive, collaborative, and impact-driven team culture.Maintains a learner’s mindset, seeking feedback and investing in personal and team growth.Experiences & qualificationMinimum 4 years of working experience with a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline.Experience in recruitment is required, preferably in youth engagement, campus recruitment, or talent development.Prior experience managing people or volunteers is preferred.Familiarity with Malaysian student networks abroad (e.g. UK, US, Australia, NZ) is a plus.Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with basic proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia.Proficient in MS Office, Google Workspace, and recruitment platforms (e.g. Salesforce, Confluence).Willing to travel and work during evenings/weekends for recruitment events and candidate engagement.Due to the volume of applications we receive, we apologise that we will not be able to respond to all applicants - only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
