Open to citizens of Botswana only. Basic Function Of The PositionThe role as a Charge Up Operator is to assemble, position & detonate explosives in the underground mining environment. Main Duties And ResponsibilitiesInterpret plans and record explosive usage for all types of firing undertaken;Identify and remedy misfires;Complete thorough re-entries to work areas;Charge development headings;Undertake stope preparation, charging and ring hook up;Ensure all materials are used and all waste is disposed of in the environmentally approved manner; and`Ensure security over explosives. Minimum Qualifications And Experience Required For This PositionDriver’s Licence. First Aid & CPR certificate.
Working at heights certificateShotfiring/ underground Blasting LicenseMinimum 5 years’ experience working in an underground mining environmentIn-depth and extensive knowledge and application of contemporary underground mining practices to maximise safety and productivity.
