About the roleOur client is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth in the rapidly expanding renewable chemicals and sustainable plastics sector across Southeast Asia. This role focuses on identifying new opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and positioning the organization as a key player in the region’s clean technology transition. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping market presence and spearheading commercial expansion across multiple countries.ResponsibilitiesLead market intelligence initiatives to evaluate business potential in renewable chemical manufacturing and related applications.Build strong networks with institutes, technology licensors, integrators, and end users across the value chain.Drive customer engagement activities and develop new business opportunities within target markets.Develop and execute localized communication and market visibility strategies to strengthen brand positioning.Represent the company at regional and global industry events, forums, and conferences.Collaborate with regional and global teams on partnerships and initiatives within bio-chemicals, bio-polymers, and related sectors.Provide regular market insights, business forecasts, and strategic updates to senior leadership.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field; strong commercial acumen is essential.Proven experience in business development within renewable chemicals, bio-based materials, or advanced processing technologies.Solid understanding of industrial fermentation, waste-to-chemicals, or similar process technologies.Strong strategic thinking and the ability to navigate complex regulatory and market landscapes.Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship management skills.Fluency in English; proficiency in Southeast Asian languages is an advantage.Comfortable working across diverse cultures and regional markets, with willingness to travel as required.
