Our engaging staff strive to enable the best quality of life and create opportunities to achieve positive individual outcomes for the people who receive our services.We currently have a vacancy for a full time Regional Community Facilitator for our Aspirations Service based at our Head Office in Central Auckland. As a Regional Community Facilitator, you will work with individuals and their support networks to develop goals and support people to make them happen. You will work to identify, broker and develop a relationship between the individual and the community opportunities that are right for them. This includes working with educational providers, enhancing pathways to higher education and community inclusion, and finding volunteer and employment placements. You will also support our Aspirations centres to support development of learning/skills programmes and activities, with an emphasis on increasing the educational value of our programmes and securing volunteers to assist with our programmes.If you are a people person, who enjoys supporting people with disabilities to reach their potential through goals and aspirations then we would like to hear from you. You will be a confident, passionate person who believes that active community engagement and robust support networks are a fundamental focus for this industry. You will be comfortable talking with new people, be creative, innovative and great at getting people to get on board with your sound ideas. Most importantly you will be inspired to support people to make their own decisions and live the life that they want.This specific role covers South Auckland and Hamilton, so some familiarity with and networks within either is beneficial. Some interest in gardening and/or community gardens could also be beneficial, due to a current active project.Preferred Qualifications/ExperienceTertiary qualification in health/disability-related area or relevant qualification e.g. psychology, public relations or social work.Recent experience supporting people with disabilities is preferredFull New Zealand driver's licenceNetworking and brokerage skillsBasic computer skills, including confidence with Word, Excel and OutlookExperienced with Administration tasksSpectrum Care offers competitive remuneration, as well as support for on-going training and education.
