Are you ready to LEVEL-UP THE GAME?The roleWe are seeking a Regional Legal Counsel or Regional Compliance Counsel to join our Regional Legal & Regulatory team, with a particular focus on the Swedish and Danish markets, and broader regional support as required.Reporting directly to the Regional Head of Legal and Regulatory, you will act as a key advisor to the business on implementing legal and regulatory frameworks, particularly in the areas of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Duty of Care, in a way that is both commercially pragmatic and operationally effective.This is a strategic, business-facing role where you will proactively support our regional operations by translating complex regulatory requirements into practical guidance, fostering a culture of compliance and integrity, and contributing to the development of robust internal processes and controls.What you will doProvide expert legal and regulatory advice, particularly on AML and Duty of Care obligations, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.Monitor, interpret, and communicate regulatory developments and their potential impact on the business and its operations.Take a leading role in industry and trade organizations, helping to represent and raise awareness of FDJ UNITED's position and priorities.Promote a strong compliance culture across the organization through effective communication, training, and stakeholder engagement.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen risk management strategies and ensure alignment with business objectives.Oversee and enhance administrative and reporting processes within the compliance function to improve efficiency and consistency.Conduct compliance risk assessments, identify areas for improvement, and propose effective mitigation strategies.Compliance obligations:Ensure that you adhere to the Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) obligations for your role.Identify and raise any non-compliance incidents promptly to your line manager.Challenge processes, policies and projects that will negatively impact compliance within the Group.Complete all mandatory compliance training assigned to you.How will success be measured in this roleActing in line with FDJ UNITED valuesSuccessful completion of all relevant training and other compliance activities that support FDJ's sustainable and responsible growthYour experienceMaster's degree in law (LL.M) or equivalent legal qualification, with strong knowledge of Swedish law and relevant EU directives.Minimum 6 years' experience in regulatory compliance or legal advisory roles — ideally within the banking, fintech, or regulated gaming industries.Proven ability to translate legal and regulatory requirements into practical business and operational processes.Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English, both written and verbal.Naturally curious, commercially minded, and hands-on, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and evolving regulatory landscapes within a regional context.Our Way Of WorkingOur world is hybrid.A career is not a sprint.
