This position is responsible for providing strategic financial guidance, maintaining robust financial controls, and delivering accurate and timely financial information to support decision-making. By overseeing financial operations and collaborating with regional and corporate teams, the Regional Financial Controller helps drive profitability, manage risk, and ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate standardsResponsibilities:Oversee the preparation and timely submission of accurate financial statements and reportsAnalyze financial results and provide insights to senior management on performance against budgets and forecastsEnsure compliance with internal financial policies and proceduresLead and manage month end and year end closing activities to group timelinesLead the regional budgeting process, working with department heads to create realistic budgetsMonitor and report on budget variances, providing explanations and recommending corrective actionsPrepare and update financial forecasts based on the latest data and trendsEnsure that all financial operations within the region comply with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirementsManage tax compliance of the company in each jurisdiction, with the assistance of the tax consultants where requiredDevelop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assetsLiaise with auditors during financial audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findingsPartner with the wider finance team to implement and apply consistent and standardized global accounting practices and manage compliance with the same. Manage, mentor, and develop the regional finance team, ensuring high levels of performance and engagementFoster a collaborative environment and promote continuous learning and professional developmentSupport senior management in strategic planning activities by providing financial insights and analysisEvaluate investment opportunities, cost-saving initiatives, and other financial strategies to enhance profitabilityCollaborate with regional business units to align financial goals with operational strategiesProactively liaise with the bank, auditors, government agencies, persons and entities related to the jobMonitor and manage regional cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity for operationsOptimize working capital and support treasury functions, including foreign exchange management and banking relationshipsReview, pay, and record the monthly payroll, including permanent & casual staff and students and their related social security, tax and insurance payments. Liaise with our third-party payroll provider to ensure that employees are paid correctly and in a timely mannerWork closely with other departments and regions (e.g., Operations, Sales, HR) to support business initiatives and ensure financial objectives are metAct as a financial advisor to regional management, providing guidance on financial implications of business decisionsIdentify, assess, and mitigate financial risks within the regionrobust risk management practices are in place and aligned with corporate policiesRequirementsFluent in English Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirementsExperience in audit and international accounting Experience working in the European market with strong knowledge of local laws and regulationsProven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysisExcellent leadership and team management skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesProficiency in financial software and ERP systemsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple prioritiesStrong detail and deadline orientationBenefitsHybrid Office - 13 WFH days per quarterCooperation in a highly motivated, young, international team spread across 3 continentsAn attractive location in a creative and modern office
