We believe in fairness and choose to be honest, transparent and authentic in everything we do.Key Responsibilities: Safety IntegrationEnsure that all reliability engineering practices incorporate safety standards.Audit risk assessments during project scoping.Actively participate in safety toolbox talks and integrate findings into Intelex (e.g., hazard identification, near misses).Operational Efficiency EvaluationAssess Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of pump systems, focusing on availability, performance, and quality.Investigate Anglo’s OEE KPIs to benchmark performance.Failure Analysis & Reliability TrackingDefine and monitor failure modes in the wet end of pumps (e.g., impeller wear, liner wear, bearing assembly issues).Track frequency and causes of pump failures annually to identify reliability trends.Evaluate the effectiveness of root cause analyses conducted on pump failures.Predictive Maintenance & Technology AdoptionAssess the implementation and impact of predictive maintenance tools (e.g., Life Cycle Costing, condition monitoring).Collaborate with the ConMon team on case studies to validate predictive strategies.Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM)Evaluate the application of RCM principles in developing optimal maintenance strategies for pump systems.Inventory ManagementReview the efficiency of spare parts inventory systems to ensure critical components are available while minimizing excess stock.Performance & Energy OptimizationMonitor projects aimed at improving pump system reliability and performance.Support initiatives that enhance energy efficiency, contributing to sustainability and cost reduction goals.Proactive Issue IdentificationEvaluate the engineer’s role in identifying and mitigating potential issues before they result in pump failures.Team Collaboration & CommunicationAssess the quality of collaboration between reliability engineers and maintenance teams to ensure a unified approach to reliability.Training & Knowledge SharingMonitor the rollout and effectiveness of training programs designed to build reliability expertise within the maintenance team.Cost-Benefit AnalysisEvaluate the return on investment (ROI) and overall cost-effectiveness of reliability improvement initiatives.Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.Certified CAT II Vibration Analyst.Strong foundation in Reliability Engineering principles.Founded in 1871, Weir is a world leading engineering business with a purpose to make mining operations smarter, more efficient and sustainable.
