KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLEResponsibilitiesPolicies, Processes and ProceduresFollow established safety policies, processes, standard operating procedures and provide support in the interpretation and implementation of safety related policies to the line managementAssist in the implementation of new initiatives/ projects as per the established policies to meet the future requirements of the siteParticipate in the first and third-party health and safety audit systems for their designated area/ plant, in collaboration with Lead SafetyParticipate in external industry bodies, trade association, global forums and keep self abreast with leading practices and trends in order to contribute towards continuous improvement of systems, processes and proceduresOperationsConduct and analyse safety observations at their designated area/ plant and suggest actions to modify behavioursMaintain log book, occurrence book and other shift related documentation to ensure adherence to safety compliancesCarryout investigation of all safety related incidents at their designated area/ plant, conduct root cause analysis and identify action plans to avert such future incidentsParticipate in risk management programs such as control measures identification, incident investigation, etc.
to manage key risks at their designated area/ plantCreate MIS reports, safety updates, findings, and performance indices to the area/ plant management so as to ensure awareness towards health and safetyTrack the leading and lagging safety metrics for their designated area/ plant and drive suggested improvement initiativesPrepare training modules/ programs and organize safety awareness training to safety executive/ their designated site employees to enhance awareness/ capability pertaining to safetyConduct/ Review Nearmiss Analysis and propose actions to Line Management on focus area/improvement actionsSteer and co-ordinate for effective Plant level safety committee meetingsSECTION IV:
