SyriaSupply Chain OfficerOrganizationAid Gate OrganizationPosted 5 Aug 2025 Closing date 15 Aug 2025Supply Chain OfficerJOB DESCRIPTION: The Supply Chain Officer will ensure efficient procurement, logistics, warehousing, and fleet management to support AGO’s humanitarian operations in Syria. The role serves as the focal point between field offices and HQ, ensuring compliance with AGO’s policies and donor requirements while optimizing supply chain processes for timely and cost-effective delivery of assistance to vulnerable communities. Main ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities: Procurement & Vendor ManagementIdentify, assess, and contract suppliers (goods, services, emergency, and development response ) in compliance with AGO and donor regulations.

Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to ensure value for money. Maintain an updated supplier database and conduct regular market assessments. Prepare Bills of Quantities (BoQs), procurement plans, and tender documents. Field-HQ Coordination & ReportingAct as the primary liaison between Syria field operations and HQ on supply chain matters. Implement regular field visits to all sub-offices in Syria and provide technical support as needed. Document challenges, risks, and mitigation measures in supply chain processes. Prepare monthly reports for all SC activities and ensure a proper archiving system is in place.

Strongly coordinate with project managers to ensure the highest support is provided3. Compliance & Risk ManagementEnsure all procurement and logistics activities comply with AGO policies, donor rules, and local laws. Identify and mitigate risks (e. g. , delays, fraud, price fluctuations). Implement anti-corruption measures and uphold transparency standards. Cross-Cutting ResponsibilitiesCommit to AGO’s Safeguarding Policy, including reporting violations (e. g. , fraud, exploitation). Promote awareness of protection principles among staff and partners. Support emergency preparedness (e. g. , prepositioning stocks per Anticipatory Action protocols) Warehouse & Inventory ManagementOversee warehouse operations, ensuring proper storage, security, and documentation of stocks. Implement inventory tracking systems (e. g.

, GPS, barcoding) and conduct regular stock audits. Ensure adherence to specific storage protocols (e. g. , food, NFIs supplies). Logistics & Fleet CoordinationManage transportation, fleet operations, and maintenance to support field activities. Plan and track distributions, ensuring timely delivery to beneficiaries and field offices. Optimize routes and logistics costs while maintaining accountability. AGO PoliciesCommit to respecting the protection policy. Signs the Code of ConductReport serious cases of abuse on beneficiaries identified by the team to the DHoD/HoD. Strict confidentiality must be respected. Raising awareness within the Foundation on violence against beneficiaries. Providing guidance to employQualifications & Preferred SkillsEducation:

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in supply chain/logistics, preferably with NGOs in humanitarian settings. Technical Skills: Procurement, warehousing, and fleet management. Proficiency in inventory software, and MS Office (Excel, Word). Strong negotiation and analytical skills. Languages: Fluency in Arabic; working knowledge of English (written/spoken).
