We support humanitarian, development, and governance initiatives through third-party monitoring (TPM), research, evaluations, capacity building, and digital solutions for a wide range of clients including INGOs, donors, and academic institutions. Position SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled MS Word and PDF Designer with strong graphic design capabilities to create elegant, readable, and visually engaging documents and templates.

This role requires advanced proficiency in MS Word and Adobe Acrobat, alongside solid working knowledge of Canva and/or Adobe Illustrator for integrating visual elements and ensuring brand consistency across deliverables. The ideal candidate combines technical precision with creative design thinking, able to transform dense reports and proposals into clean, polished documents ready for stakeholder and donor engagement. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and format complex Word documents using custom styles, section breaks, tables, headers/footers, and auto-generated content lists (ToCs, figures, annexes). Convert Word documents into professional, print-ready PDFs with bookmarks, internal hyperlinks, and accessibility features.

Create and manage organization-wide templates for reports, proposals, briefs, and training materials. Design high-quality visual content (infographics, diagrams, covers) using Canva and/or Adobe Illustrator, aligned with Ektimisi’s brand standards. Incorporate charts, maps, and visuals provided by technical staff into documents while maintaining visual clarity and consistency. Collaborate with researchers, project managers, and communications staff to align formatting and visual presentation with audience needs. Conduct thorough document QA — pagination, spacing, margins, font consistency, cross-references, embedded objects. Deliver final assets in both editable (Word/Canva/AI) and locked (PDF) formats. Offer troubleshooting support and refinement of existing document templates.

Required QualificationsMinimum 3–5 years of professional experience in advanced document formatting and visual document design. Expert-level proficiency in MS Word (styles, template creation, formatting rules) and Adobe Acrobat (PDF assembly, accessibility, bookmarks). Proven experience using Canva and/or Adobe Illustrator for layout and graphic production. Strong visual design skills and attention to detail, especially with typography, alignment, and information hierarchy. Ability to transform technical content into clear, structured, and well-designed materials. Highly organized and capable of meeting short deadlines. Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written).

Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Communications, Publishing, or a related field (or equivalent experience). DesirableExperience designing for international development, humanitarian, or research organizations. Familiarity with producing accessible documents (screen-reader compatibility, tagged PDFs). Ability to work with PowerPoint, Excel, or InDesign a plus. Understanding of multilingual layout challenges (e. g. , Arabic–English bidirectional formatting). Having photography experience and can conduct training for field teams on how to take professional photos. DeliverablesCustom templates (Word, PDF) for reports, proposals, manuals, and presentations. Visually engaging document assets (e. g. , covers, callouts, infographics).

A user-friendly style guide for internal staff to apply designs consistently. Final deliverables in editable and PDF formats with all links and elements preserved. Designed reports in word and PDF formatsRemunerationThis is a consultancy-based role with a competitive daily rate, negotiated based on experience and scope.
