Remote Craft Artists

Role OverviewHighbrow is recruiting Craft Artists for the Common Lives Project, a research program using wearable GoPro footage to improve AI understanding of artistic and manual work. Record your creative process—sculpting, pottery, woodworking, or other craft routines—as part of this short-term paid project.Responsibilities:Wear a head-mounted GoPro camera to capture daily crafting activities for 5 separate days within a 2-week windowRecord at least 7 hours per day, with flexibility to pause for breaks and privacyAt the end of each day, spend around 2 hours to:Upload your footage to a secure platformReview selected clipsDecide whether to delete, anonymize, or consent to each segmentHousehold Requirements:No children (under 18) present or visiting during the recording periodAll adults in the space must be fluent English speakers and provide consentMust live or work in a private, self-contained studio, workshop, or home environmentAll household/workspace members must agree to appear in the footageParticipant Requirements:Must work indoors in non-customer-facing roles (e.g., not retail or child care)If multiple participants share the workspace or household, all should wear a GoProPreferably engaged in creative, hands-on work (e.g., craft artist, sculptor, woodworker, potter)Must be self-employed or have employer consent to record in the work environmentComfortable using a computer for reviewing and uploading video clipsTechnical Requirements:Must have access to a computer and internet connectionAble to use web-based tools for upload/review (training will be provided)GoPro camera and accessories will be provided by Highbrow for the duration of the projectOffer Details:Commitment Required: 5 recording days within a 2-week windowEngagement Type: Contractor / FreelanceDuration: 2 weeks (plus setup and review time)Location: United States onlyDue to consent regulations, participants must NOT reside in the following states/provinces: Illinois, Texas, Washington, New York, Colorado, California, Oregon, Quebec, Kentucky, South CarolinaApplication Process:Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for a screening callOnce accepted, Highbrow will ship all required equipment and provide onboarding instructionsParticipants will receive training on how to record, upload, and review their footage securely
