Job Description

SECO is looking for an expert renewable energy engineer for its Certification & Inspection department.Your role:You develop inspection schedules for the renewable energy sector, based on international standards, your in-depth technical knowledge and your understanding of the risks. To this end, you also monitor innovation within the sector and developments in the relevant regulations.You contribute to technical reference documents for the renewable energy sector.You are responsible for convening committees and working groups with authorities, installers, manufacturers and specifiers in the field of renewable energy. You discuss feedback from the field and take action, such as updating reference documents and drawing up improvement processes.You keep your finger on the pulse of practice through a dedicated team of inspectors and experts. You analyse feedback from the field and adjust the method of inspection and the use of checklists.You ensure that the team is competent and contribute to the training of installers.You develop schemes for the certification of renewable energy products and systems, with an eye for the circularity of these products.You explore new developments in the field of technical building performance, such as smart buildings.Your profile :You have a master's degree and in-depth knowledge of renewable energy systems (solar panels, solar thermal energy, heat pumps);You prioritise quality assurance;You are able to develop services and manage, motivate and coordinate tasks for a dedicated team;You communicate fluently in Dutch and have a good knowledge of French and English, orYou communicate fluently in French and have a good knowledge of Dutch and English;Experience in certification work is an advantage.
