Job Description

We are seeking a highly strategic and technically astute Vice President Supply Chain to lead procurement in a fast-growing company in the space sector. In this role, you’ll own the sourcing and acquisition of complex, high-value, low-volume parts and systems, many of which are bespoke or semi-custom. You will be responsible for building a robust procurement capability that supports product development, rapid iteration, cost control, and supplier risk management - critical to a company operating at the cutting edge of aerospace innovation.

This role is based in Helsinki, Finland and offers an exciting opportunity to grow together with ReOrbit on its upward trajectory. ResponsibilitiesTeam Development & Process MaturityGrow a supply chain / procurement function with scalable processes and digital tools suitable for a dynamic scale-up environmentStrategic Sourcing & Procurement OperationsDevelop and execute procurement strategies aligned with rapid growth, technical demands, mission timelines and limited supplier options.

Source custom and semi-custom components according to tight schedulesSupplier & Contract ManagementBuild relationships with specialist vendors and negotiate contracts for bespoke builds and prototype development.

Develop partnerships focused on agility, IP protection, and innovationCollaboration with Engineering & Product TeamsPartner closely with internal teams to support product development and hardware iteration across the lifecycle as well as adapt to changes within the delivery scheduleDevelop processes appropriate to a scaling company, with high value procurementsRisk Management & Cost ControlProactively identify and mitigate risks and optimize costs while maintaining high quality and meeting critical delivery schedulesSkills And RequirementsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related technical field (Master’s or MBA preferred).

10+ years in procurement or supply chain roles, with 5+ years in a leadership capacity within a technology-heavy, hardware-focused company. Proven experience sourcing high-value, low-volume, highly customised components—ideally in aerospace, defence, or advanced manufacturing. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills, especially for bespoke and IP-sensitive projects. Excellent collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills. Desirable ExperienceFamiliarity with spaceflight systems, propulsion, or aerospace-grade qualification standards. Experience in a high-growth startup or scale-up environment. Understanding of compliance and regulatory frameworks such as ITAR. Working knowledge of supplier quality assurance systems and digital procurement tools.
