You are someone who looks beyond your own role, steps in where help is needed, and stays pragmatic and solution oriented when challenges arise. Curiosity, initiative, and the courage to make mistakes are key to your success and enjoyment in this role.What you’ll doMaintain clear, testable requirements in Jira and keep product documentation up to date.Specify new product features together with stakeholders.Lead estimation meetings with all departments involved.Track requirement coverage and defects across releases.Act as the Product Owner in an agile software development process.Support the Data Protection Officer (approx. 10% of your time)Hybrid role with one anchor day (Monday) and ~50% on-site presence in Bern on average.RequirementsWhat you bring2–5 years of experience in requirements engineering and/or as a product owner in software development.Solid technical foundation (e.g. BSc/MSc in computer science or proven industry experience.Solid understanding of software development processes in general.English: Advanced (C1 preferred; strong B2 considered). German: an advantage for on-site collaboration.Collaborative and detail-focused, but pragmatic when needed, and effective in a fast-paced, self-organized environment.Comfortable with diagramming/modelling (e.g., BPMN/UML) to clarify processes and interfaces.Jira and Confluence knowledge, or the motivation to build up expertise quickly.Eligible to work in Switzerland (Swiss/EU/EFTA work permit).Nice to haveExperience developing medical products and familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks (ISO 13485, IEC 62304 and ISO 14971)Certification as a Requirements Engineer (e.g. IREB)Hands-on experience in regulated environments (CE/FDA) with end-to-end traceability from user needs to verification and validationBenefitsBenefits – Working at machineMDLocated in Bern, Switzerland, we thrive on collaborative, in-person energy, while offering the flexibility you need to do your best work in the office or at home.We’re a team that values both, how we work together and the impact of what we build.
