Our Founder/CEO previously was Director of the ONE campaign across Europe for seven years, responsible for all ONE's policy, campaigns, digital, media, and advocacy work. He was a key architect of the Make Poverty History Campaign; Movement Director for the anti-slavery organisation Walk Free; and an Executive Director of the UK Labour Party. Our Director of EU office has more than 10 years experience of influencing EU institutions with the ONE Campaign and the European Women's Lobby. Prior to this she worked for the International Criminal Court.RoleFuture Advocacy's Brussels office is seeking a Research, Advocacy and Communications Intern. This is a great opportunity to be thrown in at the deep end in a small, dynamic organisation with a major focus on team and personal development. The successful candidate will quickly develop a range of skills, including research, advocacy, writing, and communications. They will work closely with our small and energetic team.Responsibilities will include:Supporting advocacy and strategic communications workResearching key issues relating to consultancy projectsSupporting business developmentOverseeing social mediaOther tasks as requiredEssentialSkills and experienceStrong academic performance in a relevant undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience that demonstrates high quality research, writing, and interpersonal skillsExperience in advocacy, campaigning or communications (paid or voluntary)Some experience in working with EU institutionsA commitment to bring positive social changeStrong written and verbal communications skillsGreat attention to detailDigital skills and knowledge of social mediaAbility to work independently and as part of a teamEnthusiasm, flexibility, and ability to manage competing priorities Willingness to undertake routine admin tasks DesirableAbility to represent the organisation to high level individualsDesign skills Terms and ConditionsSalary: €1300/month + €55 travel allowance, lunch vouchers, personal hospitalisation insurance reimbursement and full desk set upContract: 6 months, Full-TimeHours: 38 hours per week, Monday-FridayLocation: Brussels (we work flexibly with around 2 days per week together in the office with the rest from home)Start date: as soon as possibleTo applyPlease apply in English by submitting a cover letter and CV using the button below.In your cover letter, please let us know how you found the job.The deadline for applications is 22 March at 23:59.
