Located within a research-driven innovation hub, the company is backed by leading investors and has a strong track record in scaling scientific advancements.About the Role:The Applications Scientist will play a key role in supporting research and development efforts, focusing on the expansion of existing coating chemistries and advancing projects in emerging applications. This position will work closely with the R&D team to drive new product development, technical evaluation, and market-focused innovations.Responsibilities:Conduct practical lab-based work in support of ongoing and new R&D projects.Test and analyse a range of substrates and materials used in membrane purification and separation technologies.Contribute to the development of surface treatment methods and evaluate results for product enhancement.Conduct literature and market research to support R&D programs and track emerging trends.Prepare and review technical documentation, including SOPs, process development reports, and tech transfer documents.Plan and execute project timelines, collaborating with internal and external teams on membrane technologies.Operate laboratory equipment and train team members on new processes as required.Qualifications & Experience:Advanced degree in chemistry (Master's or PhD), or at least 2 years of industry experience.Experience in polymeric membrane development and membrane separation processes.Hands-on experience in organic chemistry, synthesis, coating development, or formulation.Strong problem-solving ability with a solid understanding of chemical characterisation techniques.Experience in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment is advantageous.Ability to manage independent work streams and collaborate effectively in a team setting.Excellent organisational and communication skills (both written and verbal).
