Research AssistantTo provide high quality research support and undertake internationally competitive research aimed at publication thereby contributing to the academic and research mission of the University.The Biotechnology Center is looking to recruit a research assistant to make a positive contribution to our research team. This is an exciting role in which the post holder will have the ability to work in all areas of our multi-omics team to ensure operations flow efficiently across the center.The Research Assistant will be responsible for the following activities:• Conduct sample collection and processing (blood, urine, stool) for biochemical and multi-omics analyses.• Perform metabolomic profiling using QTOF mass spectrometry and assist in proteomic and transcriptomic workflows.• Coordinate the collection and curation of wearable sensor data (e.g., Oura Ring, HRV, and sleep metrics).• Perform quantitative and statistical analyses of multi-omics data in collaboration with the bioinformatics team.• Maintain accurate laboratory records, manage data entry, and ensure sample traceability.• Participate in quality control procedures and instrument maintenance to support reproducible data generation.• Regularly meets with the Advisor to apprise the Advisor of the research results, for the development and troubleshooting of techniques, to provide direction and focus to the research, to air concerns and conflicts, and to express mutual expectations.• Assist with the interpretation of results related to hydration, acid-base balance, inflammation, and oxidative stress markers.• Support report writing, data visualization, and presentation of findings to the research team and sponsors• Publishes research results in a journal appropriate to the field in a timely manner, may present findings at meetings.• Contributes to the overall activities of the research team and the department.• Performs other similar or related duties as and when assigned by the Advisor.
