Job DescriptionAre you passionate about digital design, open-source software, and educational innovation? The Edu4chip project ( https://edu4chip.github.io/ ) is seeking a full-time scientific assistant to help develop and support infrastructure for teaching chip design using open-source tools. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys technical exploration and contributing to reproducible and accessible workflows that empower students and educators in the semiconductor domain.Responsibilities And QualificationsAs a research assistant, you will play a key role in evaluating, integrating, and supporting open-source chip design tools within the Edu4chip project. Your work will focus on building robust, reproducible workflows for educational use, developing documentation and teaching materials, and collaborating with researchers and instructors to improve usability and accessibility. You will also contribute to the technical foundation of the project, helping shape how chip design is taught using open-source technologies and gain hands-on experience in all steps of the chip design process from simulation to tape-out and testing the manufactured chips.Your primary responsibilities include:Exploring, testing, and integrating chip design tools in all steps from simulation to tape-out and testingDeveloping reproducible workflows and automation scripts for educational useCreating and maintaining documentation, tutorials, and example projectsSupporting educators and students in using the tools effectivelyContributing to the development of teaching materials and lab exercisesCollaborating with the project team on infrastructure improvements and outreachAs a formal qualification, you must have a master’s degree in electrical or computer engineering or equivalent. In addition, you ideally haveA solid understanding of digital logic and computing systemsExperience with RTL modeling and simulationFamiliarity with EDA tools and digital design workflowsExperience with Linux environments and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash)Experience with Git, CI/CD workflows, and collaborative development practicesStrong communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaborativelyInterest in educational technology and reproducible researchPrior involvement in teaching, tutoring, or technical writingWe offerDTU is a leading technical university globally recognized for the excellence of its research, education, innovation and scientific advice.
