Job DescriptionYour roleAre you passionate about bioanalytics? We are looking for two Research Assistants to join our Bioanalytics unit in Espoo for approximately one-year fixed-term positions starting in early June 2026. Join ourQuantitative Bioanalytics Unit and gain hands-on experience in developing cutting-edge bioanalytical methods for new drug candidates.As a Research Assistant in the Quantitative Bioanalytics team at our Espoo laboratory, you will support Orion’s drug development projects by determining drug, metabolite, and biomarker concentrations in various biological samples. You will work hands‑on with biological in vivo and in vitro matrices and utilize modern bioanalytical techniques and equipment, including automation and LC‑MS systems.Responsibilities Pre‑processing biological samples using various methods, including automated sample‑handling robots. Performing quantitative analyses using LC‑MS and other analytical platforms (e.g., ELISA). Supporting the development and implementation of bioanalytical methods. Operating, maintaining, and performing daily upkeep of laboratory instrumentation. Utilizing several laboratory software tools and electronic systems for data acquisition, equipment control, and documentation. Collaborating closely with other laboratories within the department and contributing to smooth teamwork and laboratory workflow. Education And ExperienceA vocational qualification in the laboratory field or a Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Science (UAS / AMK) is required Previous strong laboratory experience is considered an advantage. We consider it beneficial if you have Basic understanding of liquid chromatography and/or mass spectrometry and hands‑on instrument experience. Experience working with biological matrices. Understanding or experience in chromatographic or ligand‑binding assays (ELISA or similar). Familiarity with software used to operate laboratory instruments. The unit is responsible for quantitative bioanalysis from early discovery to clinical phases, focusing on developing and validating bioanalytical methods to quantify drugs, metabolites, and biomarkers in biological fluids, tissues and in vitro samples and implementing methods in use.
