The Cluster of Excellence “Climate, Climatic Change, and Society” (CLICCS) investigates climate dynamics and climate-related social dynamics, as well as the interactions between the two. To this end, we are looking for colleagues from a wide range of disciplines, including the natural sciences as well as the social sciences. Research associates may also pursue independent research and further academic qualifications.CLICCS is an ambitious research program at University of Hamburg and its partner institutions. Funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), it is part of Germany’s Excellence Strategy. The position is part of two projects ‘S4: Climate Policy Formation: Predictions, Preferences and Politics’ and ‘M1: Decarbonization Dynamics of Companies’. Both projects will set up or continue and extend large panels running over the entire funding phase of the cluster. The main task of the position is to provide administrative and technical support for these panels. The panel in S4 will be a quantitative, survey-based panel of several thousand German households and several dozen municipalities used to conduct randomized experiments. The panel in M1 is a mainly qualitative international panel of large companies.Your Responsibilities As a Panel Coordinator Includesupport the design, programming, administration of a German online household and municipality panel, this involves liaising with the company providing access to the panel participants, programming the survey, overseeing pre-testing and field phase of the survey, and checking data qualitysupport the extension and administration of the company panel, this involves coordinating with high-level company representatives, organizing bi-annual conferences, coordinating interview dates etc.management tasks (e.g., organization of collaboration within the project, with the data management officer of the cluster, the Digitalization Committee and others)Your profileA university degree in a relevant field.a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in economics, political science, sociology or related academic fields with very good resultsa doctorate is welcome but not essentialadvanced knowledge and experience in designing, programming, and administering surveys or survey-based experimentsexperience with liaising with high-level representatives of companies or other institutionsexperience in team work in an interdisciplinary environment and in project managementproficiency in English and German (spoken and written) is essential, proficiency in other languages is an advantageWe offerReliable remuneration based on wage agreementsContinuing education opportunitiesUniversity pensionsAttractive locationFlexible working hoursWork-life balance opportunitiesHealth management, EGYM WellpassEducational leave30 days of vacation per annumUniversität Hamburg—University of Excellence is one of the strongest research educational institutions in Germany.
