Company DescriptionThe Wales Centre for Public Policy works to provide high-quality evidence and independent advice to ministers, the civil service, and public services, supporting better policy decisions and implementation outcomes. Funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, Welsh Government, and Cardiff University, it is a member of the UK’s What Works Network and UPEN (Universities Policy Engagement Network). The Centre collaborates with leading experts to address pressing policy challenges and conducts research to advance understanding of evidence-informed policy making. It plays a key role in enhancing public service delivery in Wales and beyond.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, hybrid role based in Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom, for a Research Associate at the Wales Centre for Public Policy. The Research Associate will be responsible for conducting policy-relevant research, synthesising evidence, and preparing reports and briefings for policy makers. Additional responsibilities include analysing data, managing stakeholder relationships, and collaborating with external experts. The role may also involve presenting findings to diverse audiences and supporting internal projects aimed at improving evidence-based policy making.QualificationsStrong research skills, including evidence synthesis, data collection, and analysisExcellent written and verbal communication skills to produce clear and concise reports and briefingsCollaboration and stakeholder engagement skills to build and maintain relationships with policymakers, academics, and practitionersProject management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlinesKnowledge of public policy, social sciences, or related fieldsA postgraduate degree in Public Policy, Social Sciences, or a relevant discipline is highly desirableFamiliarity with the evidence-based policy making field or the Welsh public policy landscape is a plus
