This dynamic role combines technical expertise with project management and strategic alignment. The successful candidate will play a key role in bridging research, product development, and business objectives—ensuring innovation initiatives are effectively managed from concept to execution. Responsibilities will also include oversight of intellectual property activities and the R&D budget.Based in Calgary, Alberta, and working closely with a multidisciplinary, international team, you will help advance the development of the world’s first closed-loop geothermal system.This permanent full-time, in-office position is located in Calgary, with limited travel required based on business needs.To learn more about our mission and projects, please visit Eavor’s website or our LinkedIn page.Some Of What You Will DoTasksConduct research into the development or improvement of chemical engineering processes, reactions and materialsParticipate in interdisciplinary research and development projectsPlan and manage budgetsReview and adapt information regarding product innovations, competitors and market conditionsCo-ordinate projectPrepare funding and grant applications and proposalsJob DutiesProject Management: Leading product development research; Create and maintain standardized project workflows for other research projects within the team in collaboration with project leads; Collaborate with leaders of each work stream and technical staff to ensure project milestones and deadlines are tracked and deliveredIntellectual Property Management: Monitor and track patent action items, working closely with legal counsel and the technology team to ensure Intellectual Property (IP) deliverables and deadlines are met ; Manage IP Committee process; Manage internal IP databaseManage Finance Interface: Build 2025 R&D budget and track, report, and manage spending vs budget; Lead development of external funding applications for R&D; Budget projection and reportingCompetitor Intelligence: Lead competitor analysisDocumentation and ReportingMust-Have QualificationsSome of What you Will Need: Earned doctorate (Ph.D) degree - Chemical Engineering Experience in materials science, chemistry, or a closely related field 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in geothermal energy research or in managing Geothermal research activities Proven experience in preparing and submitting funding applications to agencies such as Alberta Innovates, Emissions Reduction Alberta, NSERC, or equivalentCredentialsCertificates, licences, memberships, and coursesEligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.
