Research Officer (Antimicrobial Biologics Lab), A*STAR IDL

A*STAR Infectious Diseases Labs (A*STAR IDL) is seeking for a Research Officer to join us in our mission to be a leading centre of infectious diseases research. A*STAR IDL aims to develop a cohesive A*STAR response to drive and deliver translational infectious diseases research to better health and economic outcomes.The Antimicrobial Biologics Laboratory in A*STAR IDL has a mission is to develop the next generation of vaccines and biologics-based therapeutics to defend against emerging infectious disease threats to Singapore and to the world. Our lab is focused on novel methods of antibody discovery against difficult targets including complex pathogens and membrane-bound receptors. We utilize microfluidic technologies and function-based bioassays to discover functional monoclonal antibodies. Such high-throughput library screening is integrated with bioinformatic and AI-guided approaches for further antibody optimization. Reverse vaccinology is also applied to identify critical vaccine epitopes. Solutions developed will be applied to the fields of infectious disease pandemic preparedness and antimicrobial resistance.Job Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences/ Biomedical Sciences/ Biological Sciences/ Bioengineering/ Bioinformatics or related fields with at least 1 year of relevant experience.Team player with strong interpersonal skills.Highly motivated and a passion for research.Adaptable to a diverse and cross-disciplinary environment, because we use a wide range of techniques to achieve our research outcomes.Experience in a laboratory environment and strong wet lab technique.Expertise with antibody or vaccine biology preferable.Expertise with antibody-related bioinformatics (VDJ family classification, CDR3 diversity indices) is not required but would be preferred.
