The respiratory team strive to provide a supportive environment through a framework of values and behaviours, where there are opportunities to develop and consolidate new skills.This is a fixed term post for 9 months to cover maternity leaveMain duties of the jobThe successful candidate will work alongside a team of specialist Nurses, Consultant Nurse, Respiratory Physicians and other members of the wider multidisciplinary team to provide care for those patients requiring Non Invasive Ventilation(NIV) at home, for chronic ventilatory failure.The post holder will hold the responsibility and accountability to support a case load of patients that require long term non invasive ventilation for various respiratory conditions. The post requires autonomous working and case management with the guidance and support of CNS's, Consultant Nurse and Consultant NIV lead.The successful candidate will be expected to work across the health board to support the NIV service providing the link between community and secondary care. There will be requirement to visit the patient in their own home to provide timely care and management for admission avoidance.
