Position SummaryReporting to the Clinical Manager, Critical Care, the successful applicant will be responsible for providing evidenced based, comprehensive, safe, effective and ethical care to all clients in need of Respiratory Therapist services.Primary ResponsibilitiesSupporting the functioning of the anesthesiology role in the Operating Room and Labour and Delivery.Managing mechanically ventilated patients including modification of ventilation in accordance with ventilation and weaning protocols. Assisting in the transport of intubated patients.Ongoing assessment and intervention for high risk respiratory failure patients.Achieving certification in intubation and arterial line insertion.Participating in the on call rotation.QualificationsMust hold a valid certificate from the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario New graduates are invited to apply - we are excited to support early career talentCurrent BCLS, ACLS certification required. PALS and NPR certification an asset.Able to work independently and as part of a teamExcellent communication, interpersonal, critical thinking, and time management skillsDemonstrated previous clinical experience Demonstrated commitment to quality patient careHome oxygen experience an assetExcellent attendance and work recordPrimary Responsibilities Also IncludeSafety (patient, worker & workplace) is a BCHS Corporate Priority.
