Are you the independent professional who will strengthen our team?Your roleYou will act as the link between sustainability investment policy, investment products, and client needs. You will translate ESG developments into both strategic policy and practical application within the investment practice. In this role, you will help strengthen Cardano’s sustainability positioning and deliver client-focused ESG solutions.Your teamYou will join the Cardano Sustainability Group (CSG) - a team of over 20 driven professionals based in the Netherlands and the UK, specialized in the domains of Policy, Solutions, Research, Stewardship and Sustainability Advisory & Services. By combining diverse perspectives and skills, the team helps identify ESG risks and opportunities and delivers sustainability solutions for clients. This approach helps each of us to continue developing as we learn from our colleagues - and it leads to better investment decisions, by protecting us from the behavioral biases we are all subject to as human beings.Key responsibilitiesIdentify, analyze, and translate current ESG developments into policy advice and guidelines.Contribute to the further development of sustainability policy and its translation into investment portfolios and products.Assess product development initiatives and client requests against the sustainability investment policy and propose suitable solutions.Collaborate with other (sub-)teams within and outside CSG to implement policies and strategies.Advise internal stakeholders (portfolio managers, product management, sales, risk management, legal & compliance) on sustainability-related opportunities and risks.Stay informed about national and international regulations and market developments in sustainability investing.Conduct independent research assignments and deliver well-substantiated advice.Contribute to sustainability disclosures at both entity and product level.We ask for Academic working and thinking level, with a background in finance, economics, sustainability, or a related field.5-10 years of experience in ESG topics, themes, and sustainability investing, including relevant frameworks (such as SFDR and EU Taxonomy).Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex sustainability challenges into actionable policies.Proactive, independent, and results-oriented, with persuasive skills in an advisory role.Strong communication skills to clearly articulate policies and advice to both internal and external stakeholders.Ability to connect diverse interests and perspectives and to switch between strategic policy and practical implementation. Expected output / deliverables:ESG analyses and position papers – supporting policy development and external communication.Policy notes and ESG-related advice – for internal decision-making and product development.Contributions to product development processes.Contributions to formal disclosures (SFDR and Taxonomy reporting) and external publications such as the CSG quarterly report.Don’t meet every requirement?
