Restaurant Commis Chef

As a Commis Chef in our upcoming signature restaurant at Mount Nelson, you are part of a team that shapes the culinary experience of our guests. In this role, you will contribute to the overall efficiency and success of the kitchen team. Our new signature restaurant, offers an immersive marine dining experience, transporting guests into the mysterious beauty and biodiversity of the surrounding Two Oceans.Open 5 days a week, with set off days being Sunday and Monday, launching in Quarter 4 2025.Primary Responsibilities Include:Assist the Chef de Partie in meal preparationMonitor portion control and quantities of preparation to minimise wastePrepare ingredients for the meal serviceMaintain a clean and safe work area, including handling knives and kitchen equipment safelyComply with nutrition and sanitation guidelinesRequirementsWhat You Bring:Good knowledge of hygiene & safety standardsAbility to work with little supervisionTeam & Goal OrientatedGood understanding of health & safety and food hygieneBenefitsWhat We Offer:At Mount Nelson, we pride ourselves on fostering a culture built on kindness, active listening, and genuine connections with our colleagues and guests.
