The Head of Merchandising plays a pivotal role in shaping this growth story. Role Purpose: This is a mission-critical leadership role responsible for designing and executing Rangriti’s merchandising blueprint across India. The mandate is to drive profitable growth, build a highperformance merchandising engine, and ensure that every store reflects the brand’s promise through the right product, right depth, right place, and right time. You will orchestrate data-led assortment planning, store clustering, regional fashion logic, festival merchandising, forecasting, replenishment excellence, and inventory productivity— ensuring that Rangriti continues to scale as a trend-right, agile, and deeply consumer-centric retail brand. Key Responsibilities 1. Sales & Store Analytics Excellence • Build a robust analytics framework to track sales velocity, sell-through, WOS, size curves, and product lifecycle performance. • Develop region-wise merchandising logic (North, West, East, South) based on culture, climate, festival cadence, and consumer DNA. • Identify growth stores, potential unlocks, risk stores, and take proactive actions. • Run category-, sub-category-, colour-, fabric- and silhouette-level business deep dives to guide forward buys and in-season actions. 2. Assortment Planning & Intelligent Buying • Create store clusters and tailor assortments to micro-markets, consumer demographics, and demand patterns. • Partner with Design & Buying teams to build the seasonal architecture—balancing core essentials, high-fashion capsules, price-entry winners, and brand storytelling lines. • Use analytics-driven projections to determine buy quantities, depth, and size ratios for each cluster. • Ensure the assortment reflects the brand’s personality: colourful, youthful, expressive, and sharply differentiated in the value–fashion space. 3. Allocation, Replenishment & Supply Agility • Build a scientific allocation framework powered by data, maximizing revenue at the store level. • Create a real-time replenishment engine to reduce stock-outs and capture full-price opportunity. • Drive inter-store transfers (ISTs) with precision to unlock inventory efficiency. • Align warehouse dispatch priorities with store performance, revenue potential, and festival readiness. 4. Festival, Cultural & Seasonal Merchandising • Anchor a national festival calendar with sharp regional understanding• Drive proactive festival-readiness through curated assortments, deeper festive SKUs, and strong fill rates. • Anticipate demand spikes and ensure stores are stocked ahead of the curve. • Plan transitions between seasons (SS, AW) with a strong understanding of fabrics, colour stories, and consumer buying cycles. 5. Inventory Productivity & Markdown Governance • Maximize full-price sell-through and minimize reliance on discounts/EOSS. • Predict risk inventory early and take timely action through re-routing, bundling, store promotions, or cluster reallocation. • Enhance GMROI, inventory turn velocity, and overall merchandise financial productivity. • Build a forward-looking OTB mechanism aligned to growth ambitions. 6. Leadership, Capability Building & Cross-Functional Influence • Lead and nurture a high-performing team of planners, allocators, and analysts. • Drive a culture of speed, ownership, data-driven decision-making, and retail-first thinking. • Build strong working relationships with Design, Buying, Supply Chain, Retail Operations, VM & Marketing. • Influence key stakeholders to ensure merchandising priorities translate into seamless instore execution. Key Skills & Competencies • Retail merchandising leadership with strategic + executional balance • Advanced analytics and demand forecasting • Regional & festival merchandising expertise • Strong understanding of product, consumer insights, and fashion trends • Inventory management, OTB planning, replenishment logic • Business acumen & margin-focused decision-making • High agility, ownership, and action-oriented mindset • Ability to operate in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial retail environment Ideal Experience• 10–15 years of merchandising experience in ethnic wear, fusion wear, women’s fashion, or large-format apparel retail. • Experience managing 50–100+ stores is preferred. • Strong exposure to regional fashion nuances, festival-driven demand, and high volume product cycles. • Demonstrated ability to scale merchandising systems, processes, and teams in a growth stage brand.
